Hi @anoopair4467

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for reaching out—and I’m really sorry you’re having to wrestle with a BIOS reset. That’s never fun, especially when your notebook isn’t cooperating.

Let’s walk through how you can create a BIOS recovery drive for your HP Pavilion dv6-3049tx.

🛠️ Steps to Create a BIOS Recovery Drive

Download the Correct BIOS File

  • Head to the HP Pavilion dv6-3049tx driver page and select your operating system (usually Windows 7 for this model).
  • Under the BIOS section, download the latest BIOS update file (often named something like sp61028.exe).

Extract the BIOS Files

  • Run the downloaded .exe file. It will extract to a folder like C:\SWSetup\sp61028.
  • If the installer aborts or doesn’t proceed, that’s okay—you just need the extracted files.

Prepare a USB Flash Drive

  • Use a FAT32-formatted USB drive (preferably 1–4 GB).
  • Copy the extracted BIOS files to the root of the USB drive.

Perform BIOS Recovery

  • Disconnect power and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Insert the USB drive into the laptop.
  • Hold down the Windows + B keys, then press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
  • Release the power button but keep holding Windows + B until the BIOS recovery screen appears.

You’ve got this—let’s get your notebook back in action! 💪
