HP BIOS Update July 2020

My HP laptop asked to restart so it can update itself. So I did thinking it’s a routine update. Then it turned this HP BIOS update screen.

What should’ve taken a couple of minutes, had taken all night. I slept it off thinking it would stop, but it sounds like the fan has been hard at work all night. I’ve tried to press down power button and it doesn’t shut off. I pressed keyboard buttons and it doesn’t start up. It’s in a limbo. What do I do? I depend on this laptop for school. Was this a virus?

Just finished this update. What do you mean in limbo? It isn't updating anymore? (My update gave me a # out of # and percentage to represent progress) Mine had to go through 2 or 3 iterations of the same screen and a few restarts until it completed.

The laptop is currently on a black screen, but the fan down under is going at it a little intensely. I left it unplugged overnight to see if it would die out and stop, but I woke up to it same the way.

I press the power button and nothing happens. Doesn’t start up or doesn’t shut off the fan. I’ve pressed keyboard keys and nothing pops up. The lights on either side of the laptop still turn on, so there’s power but the laptop legit does not do anything. Does any of that make sense?

My laptop is a hot mess; mine also was an overnight saga that is now a nightmare!!  It will not allow me to access ANY internet browsers, not even Chrome.  I cannot access and change any settings.  It pops up but all is blank.  The only thing I can do is play music and view PDF files. HP PLEASE HELP!
