My laptop is recently displaying a troublesome performance issue where it will simply reset itsenf on its own, at the drop of a hat. I've updated the BIOS a few times and tried looking into the event logs whenever this happens, but I can't find any reason as to why this is happening. I've also scanned for malware, and my laptop is clean.
Last night was the worst; my laptop automatically reset itself, then went into a short period where it tried booting itself up and resetting three times before I went and soft-reset it myself.
I appreciate any and all help.

Thank you for the update,
It's alright though the warranty is out,
You could take the laptop to a nearby local store and have them check your computer with an alternate battery to confirm the issue.
Once confirmed you can have them replace it for you, should cost much either.
The reason I recommend this is because it's definitely a hardware issue and requires a physical tech to take a look and have a part replaced.
Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,
It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.

Hey there! @FinalVent, Thank you for joining the HP Forums!
I understand that your laptop is resetting by itself.
Kudos to you for trying out the steps before reaching out to us.
As you mentioned you have updated BIOS and also scanned for malware but you did not find any issues.
I would suggest you to perform a complete system recovery on your PC from f11 and check if it helps.
Refer this article to know how to perform system recovery.
I'll Watch your reply!
Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂

I tried a system recovery. It didn't seem to do the trick at all; the very next day, my laptop went and reset itself again.
Could this be a battery-related issue? You'll forgive me for not bringing this up sooner, but I've gotten screen warnings from my laptop pre-startup concerning my battery being particularly weak. This last reset happened not two minutes after I unplugged my laptop from the charger.

You've done a remarkable job performing the steps suggested earlier, great work 🙂
And don't worry, as we should be able to fix this up with a few more steps and I'll be with you until we ensure this issue is fixed.
It's human to err, don't worry all you need to do is check with an alternate battery (if any)
If the issue persists with the alternate battery as well, this could be confirmed as a hardware failure within the computer, otherwise a simple battery issue and a replacement of the same could be obtained by HP (free of charge-depending on your warranty status with HP).
Please let me know how that pans out,
If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,
