HP 255 G8 Notebook PC (347S4AV)

Hi, bought a new laptop with a preinstalled licenced copy of Windows 11.

Ran all the required updates, one of which was the horrific HP 15.37.0.0 BIOS update.

This failed. Caused a blue screen. I rolled back the driver (somehow) and logged back in. All great, recreated my password and pin, even better, then it tells me that I have had a hardware change, my licence is invalid, it cannot and will not activate my licence, I should buy a new one.

I have logged successfully 4 different call backs for support to activate my copy of Windows telephonically and received ZERO call backs.

In other news, I have followed all steps outlined in all articles EXCEPT for trying to install another BIOS driver, as I have NO idea which one would help or make the situation worse, and as slow as Microsoft is in following up with logged call requests, HP is just as slow.
So I now have two avenues of support requests and no end in sight.

I don't know how long my PC will keep going before the activate your windows graphic causes me to lose my mind, or cancel my Windows, or whatever model of insanity is awaiting me and my failed Windows, but I am sure it will be around the same time I lose my patience and (ugh) buy a MACbook instead.
Please, help me.

Same exact problem.

Microsoft is a black hole.

Amazing!
I thought I was the only one!
I have a query on MS with a lot of people trying to help and no end in sight as yet.

Although it's not like I'm having any luck with HP either.

If I find a solution before you do, I'll let you know.

I'd appreciate you doing the same if you find the end of this rainbow before I get there.

After months of no luck, I tried to re-activate today.

Ran the trouble shooter - changed hardware, picked my machine from the list and...

It worked! Machine is now activated.

Give it a try.
