Thank you for your kind reply. In other words, my laptop don't have a CMOS battery compartment.
I have taken out the bloated battery and I am now using A/C power plugged in all the time.
Now the laptop will startup very slowly. And it will always show the Reset 502 symbol. Then after
a short wait, it will start normally.
Thank you once again. Much appreciated.

Hi
Background info...
https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebooks-Archive-Read-Only/CMOS-reset-502/td-p/2438401
"This means the BIOS is assumed to be corrupt and the system will install a hidden copy of the BIOS to correct the problem and the startup process continues."

Thank you for your kind reply and advice. My main problem is this. I have taken out my bloated battery. I am now using A/C current plugged in all the time. I have no intention to buy a new battery. I have other laptops to play with.
Every time, I start this HP laptop (on A/C current) - I face these problems :
1. It will take a long time to start.
2. It will show the "Reset 502" signature warning all the time.
3. Some times it will show that the date and time doesn't change.
I can assume that, because there is no CMOS battery inside this laptop, therefore the date and time are not active.
Your kind advice is much appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi
I do not know, but I believe there is no CMOS/RTC battery fitted to your model.

My final response.
First Thing First. I have taken out the bloated battery from this laptop.
It was just over one year, there was no warranty.
I have no intention to buy a new battery. I am using this laptop at home all the time.
I also have other laptops to use them at home.
I am using A/C current on this laptop all the time. And I repeat, I won't be buying a new battery. Never !
I have tried all the suggestions as recommended, but it was in vain - so to speak.
Like installing, updating or restoring the BIOS, but it was in vain.
Oh Yes ! I opened up this HP laptop a few times to locate the CMOS in the motherboard.
And it is now confirmed that there is none.
Finally, I regret to say this. HP is "Not my cup of tea" - so to speak.
Nevertheless, I would like to Thank You for your kind and valuable advice. Much appreciated.
Thank you once again.
Best regards,
micky.
