Hello guys,

yesterday I found my small booklet with HP CarePack, which supposed to extend warranty of my laptop PC, from 1 year to 3 years, after activation.

The exact name: HP 3Y RETURN TO DEPOT NOTEBOOK ONLY SVC.

As I remember, when I tried to activate the HP CarePack for the first time, literally few minutes after purchase and first start-up of my laptop PC, I was not successful, but today, I do not remember, why or what was the exact issue.

My current problem/barrier is message User ID is deactivated, I am guessing, it is caused by expired warranty or inactivity.

Could I still somehow register my HP CarePack warranty extension? Do I need to contact HP Support department directly?

Also, I would like to know in advance, if there is even chance to make it work, before contacting them.

I have to wait till Monday, so I decided to try ask here first, so hopefully, I would get here some advices, tips, or just simple answers.

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

Jakub

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

Let's check your warranty details using the HP Customer Support - Product Warranty Check website.

  1. Find, and then note the serial number for your HP notebook or tablet. For detailed steps, go to Finding the Serial Number.

  2. Go to the Product Warranty Check website.

  3. Select the country/region where the computer was purchased, type your serial number, and then click Check Warranty.

The HP Product Warranty Check webpage displaying the country/region of purchase and serial number entry fields

  4. Review the warranty status details for your product.

If you think the product warranty details from the Product Warranty Check website are incorrect, submit a dispute.

  1. From the HP Product Warranty Check results for your product, click Dispute this to display the Warranty validation form.

NOTE: If the dispute link does not display, the product might be a commercial product, which cannot be disputed online.

Message with Dispute this link highlighted

  2. Type your contact information, and then select a Dispute reason.

  3. If prompted to upload the proof of purchase, click Choose File, and then double-click the proof of purchase file to upload it.

NOTE: Make sure the file does not exceed 2 MB and is an acceptable digital file format: .bmp, .doc, .docx, .gif, .jpg, .png, .pdf, or .zip.
  4. Click Dispute warranty.

HP reviews the warranty status for your product and contacts you after the review.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
