Hello,

I am currently trying to restore a chromebook via Image Recovery, however, the recovery image I found appears to be out of date and the system won't let me proceed. I am not able to find a current version of the image. The latest version I have found is 137.x, during verification, it tells me the image you are using is out of date and just stops.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@On-SiteTech, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check Your Chromebook Model

Press Ctrl + Alt + T to open the terminal.

Type info and press Enter to find your model number.

Download the Recovery Image

On a different computer, go to the Chromebook Recovery Utility.

Add the tool to Chrome, then open it.

Enter your Chromebook model number.

The tool will download the latest recovery image and ask for a USB drive (4GB+) to create the recovery media.

Create Recovery USB

Follow the instructions in the tool to create a recovery USB drive.

Enter Recovery Mode

Turn off your Chromebook.

Hold ESC + Refresh keys, then press Power to turn it on.

The recovery screen should appear.

Restore Chromebook

Follow the on-screen instructions to restore the system.

Finish Setup

After recovery, the Chromebook will restart. Go through the setup to sign in again.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
