HP Chromebook x360 - 14b-ca0013dx
Chrome OS

Chromebook was sitting powered on but not used. ChromeOS suddenly became corrupt and won't load recovery OS via USB methods provided by Google. HP provides 0% support. Any help in how to correct the issue would be great, as the product is barely 1 year old.

Hi, @Foxgoku I am really sorry to hear about what happened to your laptop. A lot of our community members have had frequent issues with the ChromeOS and I can understand what you are going through.

Since HP Support could not assist, I would say that you should go to a local computer repair shop so they can have a look at it, as it may probably be a hardware issue.

I see that the error that is coming up is: 0x5a No bootable storage device in system. I also noticed that it says the that device code is blooguard, but in the error information it mentions that firmware ID is Google_Bloog. Could it be that it got upgraded to the wrong firmware? I tried to find the SSD but I seem to be having trouble finding it, to make sure it is seated correcctly. I see the battery, the wifi, etc. but don't seem to see an ssd. Also, I saw some talk of loading older recovery firmware and trying that. Does anyone know the process for this? Apologies, I am fairly new to Chrome OS but have worked on many laptops, servers, PCs in the past. I'm not against getting my hands dirty a bit.
