I tried to create an HP Recovery Drive using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool. Before creating, I verified that the recovery is available for my product from HP PCs - HP Cloud Recovery Tool Supported Platforms.

 

My Product ID : 4ZD61PA#ACJ

The download and extract were completed 100% while creating the recovery drive. Calculate content hash for the download file hit an error 0xC00405. I couldn't find the reason for the error. I tried to make the drive on two different laptops. Both hit the same error at the same point.

 

What is the issue here? How can I resolve the issue? Why can't I make a recovery drive?

Where can I get an HP Recovery Drive Kit if I can't create one?

Unfortunately, no one here could tell you what the problem is. 

 

The problem is most likely on HP's end.

 

You would have to contact HP customer service and see if they have a recovery kit they can send you.

If you need to get your PC back up and running quickly, you can use the Microsoft media creation tool to create a bootable W10 installation flash drive.

 

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

 

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

In the meantime, I will run the tool and enter your notebook's product information and see if I get the same failure.

I had no problem creating the recovery drive for your notebook with the HP cloud recovery tool.

 

I used a Dell Optiplex 7020 desktop PC and a PNY 32 GB USB 3.0 flash drive.
