Hi There,
I have a HP Laptop 15-da0077tx that had the battery alert . The battery is out of its life and its not repairable and I have a replacement of a battery but will need to reinstall the OS, drivers and HP software clean. I’ve purchased a USB flash drive and am attempting to use the HP Cloud Recovery Tool, on my other working Toshiba laptop (running windows 7). When I get to the System Information page I check “I need to enter product ID for my HP System, and enter the Product ID from the label on my laptop which is 4TT02PA. When I type this into the field I receive the error “Product ID does not match or is invalid. Please contact HP Support”. I cannot contact HP Support as the item is now out of warranty. Unfortunately I don’t have the money to pay for tech support or to buy the recovery USB stick from HP and so using this Cloud Recovery Tool was my only hope. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi:
The reason the HP cloud recovery tool won't work for your notebook is because it came with FreeDOS from HP, not Windows.

The cloud recovery tool only works on notebooks made in 2016 or later that came from the HP assembly plant with a Windows product key in the BIOS.
You will need to clean install Windows by making a bootable USB installation flash drive with the media creation tool from the link below.
Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
You will probably need the W10 product key as well, since your notebook did not come with one.
If you can't find the product key, you can try this:
When you get to the part of the installation that asks you to enter a product key, select the 'I don't have a product key' option and hopefully Windows will activate after you are connected to the internet, since you once had an activated copy of W10 on your PC before.
