- HP Cloud Recovery Tool STILL Doesn’t Detect My SanDisk Ultra...

I’ve spent days trying to create a recovery USB for my HP ZBook 15 G5 using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool, and I’m absolutely fed up at this point.
I’m using a perfectly working SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe 256GB USB. It shows up fine in Disk Management, works flawlessly for everything else, but the Cloud Recovery Tool just refuses to detect it.
Here’s what I’ve tried:
Formatted the USB in NTFS and FAT32 – no success
Used DiskPart to fully clean and format it
Tried multiple PCs and different USB ports
Verified that the USB works with Media Creation Tool and for bootable ISOs
Still – the Cloud Recovery Tool won’t see it. There is no error message, no explanation, just nothing.
And I will NOT buy another USB when mine is working perfectly. I shouldn’t be forced to waste more money because HP’s tool is being picky for no good reason.
I am asking for two things from HP right now:
A way to force the HP Cloud Recovery Tool to detect my USB drive
Or just give me a direct ISO download of the recovery image for my ZBook 15 G5 — with drivers and HP apps
That’s it. I’ve contacted support through WhatsApp, tried everything recommended online, and still got no working solution.
HP, if you truly care about your customers, then fix this flawed tool or at least give us the files directly. Forcing users to rely on a buggy app with no alternative is not how a professional company should work.
I’m really hoping someone from the HP team sees this and responds with a real solution — not another scripted answer.
Sincerely,
A very disappointed and tired customer

There are millions of USB drives, what is the reason you have to use that Sandisk ? Can you use a REAL USB-A drive ?
Regards.

It is an Real USB A drive and it works like a normal USB drive. I dont think the problem is with my USB it is with the app as I have seen many other complaints like this.
I NEED A REAL SOLUTION AND I AM NOT GOING TO BUY ANY OTHER USB BECAUSE SANDISK IS A USB COMPANY AND MY USB WORKS PERFECTLY

This is a peer to peer forum. We do not work for or represent HP.
Are you using the right version of the cloud recovery software?
The cloud recovery tool you referenced is only for HP consumer class PC's.
You need to use the HP cloud recovery client software which is available on your notebook's support page.
HP ZBook 15 G5 Mobile Workstation Software and Driver Details
Here's an info link for how to use the software:

If that is what you are using and it isn't working then I recommend you contact HP customer service in India for further assistance.

If I were you, I would take up Banhien's suggestion to try a different USB flash drive.
I have read many posts on this forum where using a different flash drive resolved odd-ball problems like the one you are having.
I do not see many posts where folks are unable to make a recovery drive with either version of the recovery tool.
Just my 2 cents.

I could Have done that but I already spent too much money on this USB. Isn't there any way to make this work? I mean like the app should detect the USB because it is perfectly fine.
But now there are only 3 ways :
1: Fix the App
2: Provide me with the ISO File for my pc so I can flash it to my USB
3: Last option, PLEASE tell me any other way to properly recover the pc the same way HP Cloud Recovery Client does.
The only reason I am using HP Cloud Recovery Client is because I want Windows to activate automatically, get DEFAULT DRIVERS and get the Software that cones Pre-Installed on the PC
PLEASE HELP
PLEASE, PLEASE at least provide the ISO with driver and default software
OR
PLEASE FIX THE APP😭
