Hi,

I have a HP Z book 15 G3 was running slow.  I need to reinstall the OS, drivers and HP software clean. I’ve purchased a 32GB USB flash drive and am attempting to use the HP Cloud Recovery Tool, from HP store. And started to made recovery drive, When I get to the System Information page I check “I need to enter product ID for my HP System, and enter the Prod ID from the label on my laptop which is M9R63AV. When I type this into the field I receive the error “Product ID does not match or is invalid. Please contact HP Support”. After several chat with HP support technical person, regarding above issue they were raise their hand. So i hope you will understand my problem and help me to reinstall windows OS . Thanks in advance, reply ASAP.

Don't waste your time with the "Cloud-Recovery". In many cases it doesn't work. Just check the install.wim and you know why.

Download the last "Media Creation Tool" from MS and you are ready for a new Installation. If you are running in LEGACY-Mode you can switch to UEFI first. That works.

You are using the wrong version of the cloud recovery tool.

 

The tool you are using is for HP consumer class notebooks, which requires you to enter the product number.

 

The utility you need is for the business class notebooks, which requires you to enter the notebook's serial number.

 

This package provides the Cloud Recovery Client for supported computer models running a supported operating system. This Client Utility enables users to download the Recovery Kit from the cloud.
