Hello!

I am trying to install HP Cloud Recovery Tool to create a bootable USB through the application, but when I try to type my ProductID it says that it cannot be found or that it does not exist. By the way, I have been reading about another topic, but the solution doesn't work for me.

What solution is there for this?

I have attached screenshots of my error.

Thank you!

You're using the wrong tool.

According to the product number you posted, your notebook is an HP EliteBook 840 G5, correct?

For the Probook and Elitebook notebook's you have to use the Cloud recovery tool version for business PCs.

Instead of the product number, you enter the serial number of the notebook.

You can find the cloud recovery tool download you need on your notebook's support page.

I have attached the instructions below for how to use the version of the cloud recovery tool you need.

Hi:

Not all notebooks are supported by the HP cloud recovery tool.

Nothing before 2016 and on the very new models, they don't seem to be supported either.

What product number are you trying to enter that isn't working?

The product number that I am trying is: 4RU26EC#XXX

The problem is these numbers are not registered or enabled in HP support.

Hello again!

Thank you for your answer!

I would like to ask you another question about this program. When I have installed Windows using that tool, Office 365 ProPlus and Microsoft Teams are installed. I would like to be able to eliminate them "silently" through a PowerShell script or some recommendation that you give me, or simply create the iso without those programs.

What could be the solution?

Thank you!

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know how to selectively exclude any programs from installing from the media created by the cloud recovery tool.

In the old days, when HP supplied recovery DVD's, one was for the operating system only and you didn't need a product key, and the second DVD contained the drivers and software.

On the second DVD you had the option to install everything, or you could select what programs and drivers you wanted to install, by unchecking the boxes next to the ones you didn't want to install.

If you look at the cloud recovery tool instructions I attached the other day, on page 11, section 4, there seems to be a way to customize what drivers and software you want to install in three categories...Hardware enabling drivers, Recommended software applications and Optional software applications.

Perhaps you can click on those boxes and uncheck software you don't want to install from there.

If the instructions I attached are not helpful, I recommend that you start a new topic on that question.
