I need to download windows recovery files from the HP Cloud Recovery.  When I searched model number on HP site it said my laptop was supported.  But when I install the Cloud Recovery media my model is not listed.  Anyone have any idea how to get the recovery files I need.  thanks

Hi:

I ran the cloud recovery tool from my Dell desktop PC, entered your notebook's product number 7CX33UA#ABA  in the search window, the tool accepted the product number and instructed me to insert a USB flash drive to create the recovery media.

Oh great!  can you send the web link you used.  I was using the device list on the hp website for my model.  I sure hope this is a solution.  This is what I get on product page. It directs to download HP cloud recovery tool...which is on help at all.

This is what I get....the link takes me too the HP Cloud Recovery Tool

You could query if your system has been supported by HP Cloud Recovery Tool by input Product ID below. Product ID: Result:

I cannot get past this screen as my laptop is not in the drop down menu......

HP has the wrong tool on the page.  That one is for the business class notebooks.

Doesn't the tool from the Microsoft Store install and work for you?

It should ask for your notebook's product number, not the serial number.

OMG That file seems to be working!  It seems slow.....but l'm gonna get off here and let it work.  Will let you know.

Ok downloading the recovery files took forever.  But I did get a screen that said complete.  The USB drive has 10.7GB of data.  I won't know if it's complete and operational until I plug it into the Spectre x360.  I still have to solve the boot issue.  Hopefully this recovery USB will aid in either recovery or installing new operating system.  Thanks so much for sending this zip file.

The tool downloaded from Microsoft asks for serial number....then my product is not listed in the menu of laptops.

That one didn't work either?

The tool I installed on my PC a long time ago just asks for the product number (which I had posted yesterday).

It does not ask for nor should it ask for the serial number.

So unfortunately I don't know what the problem could be.

Try the version I zipped up and attached below.

This is the one I have on my PC I believe, and if you look at the screenshot with your notebook's product number entered, it is ready to create the recovery media.
