HP 250 G4 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello. If I was to use the Cloud Recovery tool for my model, does the laptop need to register Windows 10 Home afterwards? I ask because I don't have a Serial registration number as the notebook was a store bought with Windows loaded. I think they call this OEM?

What are the suggestions please.

Hi:

Your notebook is not supported by the HP cloud recovery tool.

The specs indicate that it came with W8.1 from HP.

If you need to reinstall W10 on your PC, you can clean install W10 by making bootable installation media using the media creation tool from the link below.

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

If you had upgraded your PC from an older Windows operating system to W10, if you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, select the 'I don't have a product key' option.

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

Thanks Paul. If I select your suggestion to select the 'I don't have a product key' option will I need to purchase a key later? Just need to know in advance.

You're very welcome.

You will not have to purchase a W10 product key.

Microsoft has a record of your PC having been previously upgraded to W10, so the installation will activate.
