Hi all

new to the forum

based in Uk

a little assistance please

today I received this message on my laptop

A fatal error occurred, check HP Connection Manager in Event Viewer for more details.

Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.

I did reboot the Laptop to see if it would clear the error but it hasn’t.

I also don’t think the Connection Manager is now running as I can’t see it in the icon tray.

Would any body know what this error means, what could have caused it and a Solution.

Many thanks

Carlo

Same was happening to me.  Was able to solve it by going to Control Panel and selecting Program and Features.  Go down and select the program HP Connection Manager.  At top of list, select Repair.  I restarted the computer and no error occurred.  Sounds like the program was corrupted some how.  Hope this helps.
