Hi, I have a HP ENVY 13-ad111tu that is not powering up after charging for an hour. When I connected the power adapter, the Charging Led comes On, but when i press the power button, the charging led goes Off and it did not turn On. I tried the following solutions but all failed.
1. pressed the power button for 10 seconds after removing internal battery and charger and then replug.
2. removed the internal battery and pressed the power button for 30 seconds and put the battery back and powered on.
3. Removed the internal battery and tried to power on using the power adapter (charger) only but still nothing
4. left the laptop without charging for 2 days and tried powering on but still nothing.
Anyone has this issue before with HP systems? you working solutions will be really helpful to me. thank you all in advance.

Hi @Yomba ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP ENVY 13-ad111tu not powering on. Since you've already tried several common troubleshooting steps, let's explore some additional options:
1. Hard Reset with CMOS Battery:
- Turn off the Unit.
- Disconnect the AC adapter.
- Remove any discs from the disc drive.
- Remove memory cards from the card reader slot.
- Disconnect all nonessential peripheral devices, such as printers, scanners, external hard drives, and USB flash drives.
- Disconnect the AC adapter press and hold the power button for approximately 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the AC adapter, and then turn on the computer.
2. Check Power Adapter and Charging Port:
- Verify that the power adapter is working by testing it with another compatible device, if available.
- Inspect the charging port on the laptop for any visible damage or debris that could be preventing a proper connection.
3. Perform a Component Test:
- Remove the RAM and try to power on the laptop. Sometimes, faulty RAM can prevent the laptop from booting. If it powers on without the RAM, you might need to replace it.
- Check the SSD/HDD to ensure it is properly connected.
4. External Display Test:
- Connect the laptop to an external monitor using an HDMI or other suitable cable. This will help determine if the issue is with the internal display or the laptop itself.
5. BIOS Recovery:
- If the BIOS is corrupted, the laptop might not power on. Some HP laptops have a BIOS recovery feature:
- Turn off the laptop and disconnect any external devices.
- Press and hold the Windows + B keys, and then press and hold the power button for 2-3 seconds.
- Release the power button but continue holding the Windows + B keys until you see the BIOS recovery screen.
6. Check for Physical Damage:
- Inspect the motherboard and internal components for any signs of physical damage, burns, or loose connections. This might require opening the laptop, so if you're not comfortable doing this, consider taking it to a professional.
Refer to this document: HP PCs - Managing power options (Windows 10)

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi Gaya1239, thank you for your response. As per your options;
1. I have hard reset the CMOS battery a couple of times in like 3 weeks but still did not work. Its CMOS in inbuilt into the motherboard and thus i cannot change a new one.
2. The power adapter is working fine as it has charged another HP for a friend of mine. As for the charging port, when i plugged in the power adapter, the charging led came on but i will try to remove it and check.
3. this HP Envy does not have a RAM slot and a RAM Card. It is built in to the motherboard so this option is not an option. As for the HDD, its a SSD. I have tried removing it and put it back after 20 minutes but still nothing.
4. As for the display, i tried it on 2 separate monitors (one a VGA port and another a HDMI) but still nothing.
5. For the BIOS Recovery option, will try that. But it seems this version of HP does not have a BIOS recovery file on the HP Support site. But will check other websites.
6. And finally for the Physical damage option, it has not been dropped and no hard items have been laid on it. it was just been carried around safely in its laptop bag. I checked and there were no lose cables. But as for the burns, i will try test the power components to see it i will find some burned components.
Will get back to you as soon as i tried some options you have listed here that i have not yet tried.
Thank you
