Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP ENVY (BANG & OLUFSEN) has black screen after I login, after leaving it for a long time it finally opened the desktop but it seemed to be doing something in the background and the hourglass spinning. now it is just running extremely slow and whenever I try to use factory reset or go back to a previous restore point I get an error.

@asgloki,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is running very slow.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

  • When was the last time the computer was working fine?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes?

Meanwhile, I recommend you perform a clean boot following the below steps and check if it helps.

  1. Click Start, and type msconfig.
  2. Select System Configuration from the search results.
  3. On the Services tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then tap or click Disable all.
  4. On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click Open Task Manager.
  5. On the Startup tab in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then click Disable.
  6. Close Task Manager.
  7. On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click OK, and then restart the computer.

If you continue facing the issue, then perform a recovery on the computer following the steps in the below article.

I have two of these notebooks and now both of them are not working :-(. The 2nd one was doing a similar thing to the other one but i managed to do a factory reset on it but even after that it wasnt running properly and then i gotva blue screen error and now it wont even goto the bios screen. The last message i got was that there was no hard drive installed. The other notbook wont let me do a factory reset and just freezes once its booted the the opperating system and sometimes brings up a windows message about page files.
