I have a HP ENVY x2 - 12-e011nr and when I press the power button the charge light(white light) blinks twice. It will not power up. It did come on once and said PD firmware update failed in red letters and then it went dead again...
Is it dead? only 3.5 years old...hardly used....

Hi @Ken1417,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
To be able to answer you effectively, we need some information.
When is the last time it worked normally?
Have you done any changes to PC software or OS?
Meanwhile, try the following below
POWER DRAIN:
Please disconnect all the devices and cables connected to your computer including the power cable and then press and hold the power button for about 20 seconds and connect the power cable back again and try to power on the computer.
CBR:
Press windows key and then followed by the key "B" this time and then the power button for around 3-4 seconds, then release the power button and continue to hold windows+B for 3-4 seconds more.
CMOS RESET:
Press windows key and then followed by the key "V" and then the power button for around 3-4 seconds, then release the power button and continue to hold windows+V for 3-4 seconds, you may not receive a response from the computer, Please let me know what happens.
If that does not allow then it may need service.
You will need some additional support from our internal teams in HP. For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.
Please check your inbox on the forums page for private messages.
If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
