I have an Envy X-360 (15-bp152wm) that needs a clean install after a hard drive failure. I have downloaded all four of the drivers for the storage (Intel RST) from the product page on HP's site and extracted the contents to my USB installer but none of them are accepted by the Windows installer as the correct one. Has anybody here run into this issue? If I go into the bios and disable the Optane RAID the OS installs fine, without ever asking for a storage driver, I'm just curious why none of the drivers offered are compatible with Win 10 installer in the default configuration. Now I have a 14 GB Optane volume that is just wasted. Not ideal.

Hi:
I wouldn't be able to answer why none of the IRST drivers from your notebook's support page work.
The only suggestion I can offer would be to try the latest driver for your notebook's processor and chipset HP has from a similarly equipped business class notebook.

Since you already know how to extract the storage controller drivers from the IRST.exe file, I will skip those instructions.
I have also zipped up and attached the extracted drivers below to save you some time.

You're very welcome.
Another thing you may want to try with the Optane memory setting enabled in the BIOS, would be to use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility...you will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.

I'm thinking the factory image should automatically include what is necessary to get Windows installed with the Optane memory enabled.
