HP Elite Slice G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

we've been having some problems with one of our G2s. It keeps crashing mid boot.

I got into the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics and let it run some tests. It consistently gave me the same Failure ID.
PGADW4-000B0R-GXNG3F-609703

I tried a few things beforehand:
- sfc /scannow
- I tried to enter safe mode, but couldn't.
- Tried the HP recov tool, but it couldn't boot either.

from the tests I figured that the drive is damaged or broken?

Anyone had a similar problem?

Kind regards,

AB

Hi:

Below is the failure report generated by the code you posted, minus your PC's serial number.

Failure Information
Failure ID Tag Checksum HP Serial Number Test Date Failure Code Device Includes Error Message

You will need to install a new NVMe SSD and reinstall the operating system.

Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the SSD removal and replacement procedure.

According to the driver page for your PC, it should be supported by the HP cloud recovery tool which you can use on another Windows PC to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.

Here is an info link for how to use that utility...

You're very welcome.

You have a nice day too.

If your PC is out of warranty and you need to do the work yourself, I recommend this 250 GB NVMe SSD as a replacement.
