Hi all,

Does anyone know if the HP EliteBook 840 is likely to get a new BIOS update that will let me install the latest secure boot certificates: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_13070353-13070429-16

According to that article "HP PCs released between 2018 to 2021 received a BIOS update on or around December 31, 2025." but the support site only has 01.31.00 Rev.A Apr 30, 2025.

Trying to do this update and I get this in eventviewer:

The Secure Boot update Windows UEFI CA 2023 (DB) was blocked due to a known firmware issue on the device. Check with your device vendor for a firmware update that addresses the issue. This device signature information is included here.

From the MS article, it forwards me back to the HP article that says I should have a new BIOS availalble:

  • KI_7, KI_8, KI_9: HP Firmware
This HP device has a known compatibility problem during Secure Boot updates. Updates are skipped on affected models to prevent issues that can occur if the required firmware update is missing. Customers can check with HP to see whether updated firmware is available that resolves this issue and allows the Secure Boot update to proceed. For more information, please reference: HP PCs - Prepare for new Windows Secure Boot certificates | HP® Support.

What am I supposed to do here?

Bump, really need to know if these are getting the promised update or not so I can plan accordingly.
