I have an 840 G8 issued from work and would like to connect it to my dual monitor setup at home.

I tried with a USB-C adapter (Amazon ABIWAZY), I always use this for network, but when I connected the HDMI ports, the laptop doesn't recognise the displays. Others at the office use the same adapter with the monitors on their desks though...

I ordered another dock (one with detachable USB-C) - A TB3 dock. This doesn't work either. The USB ports etc work, but not the HDMI or DP outputs. However if I connect any other laptop, it works perfectly, including both HDMI connections.

I even have another 840 G8 here from work and that doesn't work either! However when I first plugged it into the dock, both HDMI ports worked, my screen was duplicated to all. I then moved the dock cable back to my other G8 to try that again - it didn't work and ever since, neither of the laptops work with the docks HDMI ports!

Both of the G8s work with an older Anker HDMI USB C to HDMI adapter though (I guess not Thunderbolt).

It's very odd, as I thought the G8 supported thunderbolt.

What could cause this to not work?
