Hello, everyone,
I'm facing some issues with the HP Elitebook 840 G9 notebook. The USB-C ports stop working at times, and we can only resolve it after resetting the devices.
We performed some BIOS installation tests on the device, including downgrading as a test, but the problem wasn't resolved.
I believe the issue lies with the USB-C Controller Firmware version, but it wasn't possible to downgrade.
The problem started after an automatic BIOS update through our system.
With the USB-C ports "locked," it's impossible to charge the devices or use the ports for any other purposes.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Yes, I am having the same experience with 3 of them. Matter of fact I am running diagnostics to send to HP support right now, but I really don't have much hope this gets fixed, as the communication is horrible.
Anyways, try disconnecting everything and pressing the power button for a minute.
Also have been disconnecting battery for a minute too, this seems to fix for a bit, but not permanently
