Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

My laptop can't sleep after the lid closed or sleep button pressed. I've checked all power management options, BIOS etc but no effect.

Updating the BIOS is recommended as standard maintenance of the computer. It can also help resolve the following issues:

  • An available BIOS update resolves a specific issue or improves computer performance.
  • The current BIOS does not support a hardware component or a Windows upgrade.

Didn't help. Only display is black and power button flickers.

Your problem is not solvable at this point and from a distance.

All my colleagues have TO and FROM sleep issues on G8. But have not on G5 and G6 models. It seems like some common hardware issue that HP didn't test.

I have the same issue and my Elitebook 830 G8 cannot sleep nor hibernate. Me and our Company IT helpdesk have tried everything suggested and all drivers etc. have been updated. Still no luck. All windows settings are fine. I have to shutdown laptop after every use, otherwise battery is fully drained by the next time I need the laptop.

Please let me know if you come up with a solution for the issue!
