I got this computer and it wouldn’t turn on. I took the whole laptop apart, checking that when I put it back together, that I checked everything and that everything was connected properly. When it came to the CMOS battery (the small flat silver battery that is beside the motherboard) I tested it with a multi meter and it didn’t quite read the full 3 volts, that is listed on the front of the battery. I changed it out, with the exact model number that was on the other one and finished putting the laptop together. It came on!!! Everything seemed to be working fine. I was installing a fresh installation on Windows 10 Home and everything went as it should have, until it got to the part, after everything downloads, and all of the updates are saved. Then, when it resets itself, to finish the first part, before Cortana comes on to help you with the setup, I got the blue screen, with a sideways smiley face and the error at the bottom said: Stop Code: BAD SYSTEM CONFIG INFO. I have tried to reinstall and reinstall and reinstall, with no avail. Can someone please help me to get passed this. I have researched the internet up, down, through and through and the only thing that I kinda found, that sounded like it could pertain to my issue, is a problem with the CMOS battery. I put a brand new one in. Do I need to go into the BIOS and preform some kind of task? If so, what is it? Can someone please help me, as this is driving me insane!!! Thank you for your time in this matter.

I suggest you perform a BIOS defaults

On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
-
Press F10 to Save and Exit.
-
Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
-
Follow the prompts to restart your computer.
Then try reinstalling the Windows.
