Just recently, I have had an issue with my laptop randomly turning off (not shutting down, completely turning off). It has never done this before. I remember a Microsoft update recently, but cannot say for sure that this began then. I thought it may be heat related. I have CPUID installed and it is reading an average value of 47-64 degrees C while doing normal tasks and a Maximum temp of 97 degrees C, when I start a new app. My computer has only been in use for 6 months. I have ran diagnostics at boot up (including the fans) and while running and there are no issues to be found. Windows hasn't reported any errors due to the fact that it is just turning off? Upon booting up, I will sometimes get an error message that says,

"the operating system did not shutdown cleanly.
Reconstructing cache Metadata.
Please do not interrupt this process."

I'm assuming that this is due to the fact that it does not shut down, but rather turns off? I set my fans to run faster through the HP Command Center. It turns off plugged in or running on battery, it doesn't seem to matter. Is this a faulty machine or something that others have had issues with and there is a fix for?

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is running off randomly.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

What is the product number of your computer?

Meanwhile, I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.

Everything is updated and it has turned off 3 times in a matter of 3 hours or less for no reason what so ever 11/14/2020. Perhaps I just invested $1200 in a worthless HP Laptop? From what I have been seeing online, the Envy 17 is garbage and I am just another victim who has no recourse after making my investment and 6 months has passed by?
