I have a HP envy 6055 printer which is missing the set up cartridges. Went out and purchased new cartridges but I cannot proceed with set up without the supplied set up cartridges. Could someone please advise how I can bypass this portion of the set up and allow the printer to except the new cartridges? Thanks in advance

The setup cartridges are required for initial setup of the printer.  Did you purchase the printer new or was it a floor model or demo unit?  If the cartridges are not setup cartridges you will need to contact HP to request setup cartridges.  The information here may help.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

I understand you are receiving a "use setup cartridges" error. We would have to perform an OOBE reset on the printer to bypass the error

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
