Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the keyboard is not working correctly on your computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you uninstall the keyboard driver from the device manager and then restart the computer and check if it helps.

Here is how it is done.

  1. Type "Device Manager" into the search field to open the device manager console.
  2. Expand the node that represents the type of device that you want to uninstall, right-click the device entry, and click Uninstall.
  3. On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.
  4. When the uninstall process is complete, remove the device.

NOTE: On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the Delete the driver software for this device option to delete the driver package that was used for the device.

If you continue facing the issue, then follow the below steps to change the keyboard layout.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Click on Time & Language.
  3. Click on Language.
  4. Select your default language from the list.
  5. Click the Options button.
  6. Under the "Keyboards" section, click the Add a keyboard button.
  7. Select the new keyboard layout that you want to add.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hi,

First many thanks for your time and help, second I tried the first option, did not work then I tried the second option even it was little different option there as how to choose the keyboard option. Only option was to choose is langue option and not keyboard layout, but I have to say it did works well.

Today I opened the laptop and to see if worked or not. It did work fine.

Now my HP laptop keyboard works fine.

Merry Christmas and happy new years
