Hi. A week ago I stood up on my carpet and attempted to push my laptop back on the table when I received a huge shock. Laptop is not responding. I have no warranty on my 3 yr old laptop and the local computer repair shop does not want to touch it. There is no removable battery to troubleshoot from what I see online. Just praying I can recover the hard drive. I need some guidance. Thank you for any light that can be shed on this.

The most likely scenario is the static charge fried some component on the motherboard but left the disk drive intact.
I know you said the local shop wants no part of the laptop, but can you at least have them open it to see if the drive is removable.
IF it is, then you should be able to hook it up to another PC to retrieve files and folders from it.
Let us know how that goes.
