I have a  HP Envy x360 Convert 15-es2003ca (378Y4UA)

and when trying to install W11 the HDD is not found, I have tried the load driver method and tried all the drivers on the HP site , HP Envy x360 Convert 15-es2003ca (378Y4UA) Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
along with tried the RST drivers from Intel
Would anyone have a link for the drivers to have my machine reformatted

@Test6041,

Since your notebook has an Intel Core 12th gen processor, the Windows installer needs to have Intel RST VMD storage drivers in order to detect the storage drive to install Windows on.

You can follow the steps below to install IRST drivers.

 1. Use Microsoft Media Creation Tool to create a Windows installation usb drive, which tends to be trouble free during the IRST driver installation, compared with ISO file-based installation usb drives.

2. Download Intel RST driver from the link below. Run it as administrator and follow the on-screen instructions to perform the driver extraction.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp146501-147000/sp146929.exe

3. Go to C:\SWSetup\sp146929. Double click the sp146929 folder and copy the F6 folder to the root directory of a Windows installation usb drive. The F6 folder contains IRST drivers which the installation setup needs in order to detect the storage drive.

4. Connect the usb drive to the notebook and boot the system from the usb drive. When asked where to install Windows, click on Load Driver -> Browse -> the usb drive in the window that opens -> the F6 folder -> OK.

5. Multiple .inf driver files may be displayed. Select one and click Next. If no driver files are displayed, uncheck the box on the bottom left corner of the screen to display drivers. Find and select an 'iaStorVD.inf ' file and click Next to load the driver.

6. The storage drive may be displayed with multiple partitions. Delete every partition, and when you just see 'unallocated space,' click Next to proceed the installation.

Thanks @Tk_srq , unfortunately I tried all the drivers in the file you attached and still no luck finding the drive on the Windows installation

I suggest that you run a storage drive test to be sure that your drive is not defective.

Start the notebook and immediately tap the F2 key for hardware diagnostic tests. Run the SMART check and a long DST test.

More than two dozen folks used the instructions to successfully install the IRST drivers, so I don't know what the problem could be, but you can use a different usb drive and start the installation all over again. You just need a min. 8 GB usb drive.

Since your model came with W11 preinstalled from factory, you can use HP Cloud Recovery Tool to create a bootable recovery usb drive that restores the storage drive to a factory state.

See this article for how to use the recovery tool.

HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Support

When you use another PC to run the recovery software to create a recovery usb drive, you'll be prompted to enter the full product number (ProdID), which you can find on the bottom cover of your notebook.

Thanks again, I tried the HP Cloud Recovery Tool and when the USB boots it is immediately shown the "please enable acceleration option for the intel smart response technology" error and wont progress.

Seems RST driver is the issue , would there be another driver link available? I tried all the inf files from the one provided and HP site

According to this Intel article, Intel smart response technology (SRT) is part of Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST), but Intel discontinued SRT to replace it with Optane years ago.

Intel® Smart Response Technology Has Been Discontinued

So, I have no idea why the recovery media is displaying an SRT error. The error possibly meant to be RST or Optane?

I suppose your BIOS has 'UEFI HII Configuration' in the Configuration menu. Select it and hit Enter then 'Intel Rapid Storage Technology.'  Do you see your M.2 NVMe SSD listed there?

Thanks, unfortunately the machine has a simplified bios and no setting like that to change. Would you know how to unlock the advanced bios on this machine?

HP Recommended

Notebooks with Intel Core 11th-13th gen processors are required to use Intel RST VMD storage drivers to run storage drives, and the BIOS must support Intel RAID/RST technology.

UEFI HII Configuration is a BIOS-based program to manage and configure RST and Optane memory.

If notebooks don't have Optane memory, UEFI HII Configuration list the storage drive(s) as 'Non-RAID Physical Disk(s).' See the first photo in the thread below.

Solved: Disk missing in Windows 11 image recovery option - HP Support Community - 9202792

My HP notebook with Intel Core 11th gen processor has UEFI HII Config'n in the BIOS too. I don't know why your BIOS doesn't have it. This may mean that your BIOS doesn't recognize RST, and it may have caused the recovery media to display the RST-related error.

We don't know how to unlock advanced BIOS. What you see is what you get.

Did your notebook stop booting all of a sudden? What exactly happened when you turned it on?

HP Recommended

Thanks, the laptop was recently wiped and errors with no OS found...

If I do a Linux Live Boot the nVme drive is visible, its only with the Windows installer we cant see this. I tried many different RST drivers and no luck

Since the cloud recovery media doesn't work for you, I guess you need to go back to a clean installation and tackle the IRST driver problem.

The IRST driver you used is sp146929 (v. 195.2.1049). You can try this newer file sp152863 (v. 19.5.7.1058).

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp152501-153000/sp152863.exe

If you still have the issue, download a W11 ISO file and make it bootable with Rufus. See this thread where this person reported Rufus worked (see his last reply).

driver RST FOR WINDOWS 10 64 BITS - HP Support Community - 9416826

If the problem still persists, use a different usb drive (A min. 8 GB usb drive needed) and try Media Creation Tool and Rufus.
