This is probably a silly question, however is Android available for the HP Envy x360? Mine is currently running Windows 10 and as I'm in need of a decent tablet I thought I would investigate alternatives.

Not sure I get the problem. It absolutely is a type of tablet. Windows 10 has a very robust tablet mode. It is more powerful than a cell phone or Android or iPad type tablet.
Android runs on cell phones and tablets on a processor architecture called ARM. Computers run on x86 based processors. Android and Apple's IOS for cell phones and tablets are designed to run on ARM processors.
You can run the Android system on a Windows x86 computer in emulation but not directly. Android is a cousin of the Linux OS which is actually able to run on ARM or x86 processors so if you just do not like Windows 10 you could theroretically install a Linux distribution on the laptop and it would have touchscreen and rotation and other tablet features.
Windows (x86) computers can also have tablet features is what I am saying.
Post back with a little more of a story about what you want to do and we can maybe help more.

I saw another message earlier which referred to multi-boot of different operating systems. As my x360 has configuration options for tablet mode (right-click desktop - Display Settings | Tablet mode) I figured that an alternative operating system might be Android. After all, it has a touchscreen which is the common input method for Android.
