Hi ,

Got a notebook HP Envy17 which i did not used for a while and now I want to reactivate it .

Got W8 and as BIOS F.60.

My issue is how I can update to W11 as o FTP2.0 available on my unit?

Hi:

 

Here is the problem you have:

 

The processor is also not supported but a bigger issue is that you would have to pay for a W11 license and product key and IMHO, that would be a pretty big risk of your investment to install on a notebook that doesn't meet Microsoft's minimum W11 hardware requirements.

 

Not to mention there would be no W11 drivers for it.

 

If your notebook came with W8, HP has retired support for it, so it will be hard to find even the W8 drivers for it.


However, if you want to install W11 on your notebook, you can but you will have to clean install it using a workaround that bypasses the W11 hardware checks.

What you might want to do is try out W11 before buying it and just install it without a product key.

 

It believe Windows will work for 30 days without having to be activated.


It's important that you have a way to go back to Windows 8 if things don't go well for you.
