Hello , I currently own a HP G5 255 Notebook , and have recently had from HP a Mentor Media USB , but have followed the procedure to restore the notebook to factory settings and it is not working at all , I have tried several times in case there was something that I hadn’t done, but always with the same result .:-

As shown in the picture here . Hope someone can help Thankyou

From what I just read online, the Mentor Media USB is provided by Dell, not by HP, to restore THEIR PCs.  So, it would probably NOT work in an HP.

Hello  wawood ,

I did get the Mentor Media usb as a result of a chat with HP customer support , and , with respect I have checked and Mentor media supply support materials for HP, dell and Acer also , I cannot work out why the Mentor media usb worked before and now doesn’t .  I have installed windows 10 on my notebook , but the amount of hard disk space doesn’t show as correct as it used to considering it is a 1 TB hard drive it now shows only 936mb available , after partitioned the hard drive

A 1TB drive does not actually have 1TB of useful space.  The 1TB refers to the theoretical capacity of the drive, but after formatting, it actually allows a little less.

What I would suggest is looking online for MinitTool Partition Wizard to see if they provide a file you can download to then make a bootable USB stick.  If the do, then create that stick, boot your PC from it, remove ALL the partitions -- and theh, the Mentor Media USB stick should work without issues.

Good Luck

hello,

Could not believe the customer service today from HP , the operative i talked to seemed to completely ignore the fact that i had actually installed Windows 10 on my G5 255 Notebook , and because that there is no format hard drive option within the bios tried to state that there could be something wrong with the motherboard and it would need replacing, well this Notebook is only two years old and the BIOS update is the one that was downloaded and dated June 2019 and is the only update available .
