to start off, i am an IT Technician, so i am very computer-literate.
the message on boot states "RECOVERY - your PC/Device needs to be repaired - the application or operating system couldn't be loaded because a requested file is missing or contains errors"
"File \Windows\system32\winload.efi"
Error Code: 0x0000225
Then i get 4 options: enter to try again - just flashes and does nothing
Press F1 for recovery environment - reboots and comes back to exact same screen again
Press F8 for startup settings - just flashes and does nothing
Press ESC for UEFI firmware settings - reboots and come back to another screen (STARTUP MENU)
I have tried all options, including system diagnostics (no errors in ram or SSD)
system recovery option says this: the Boot configuration Data File doesn't contain valid information for an operating system
FILE: \BCD
Error Code: 0x0000098
I have booted from a USB stick, reinstalled Windows 10 (clean install), same issue. nothing i do allows me to boot. This stupid device doesn't have an option to update the BIOS from within the BIOS, and although i have loaded the bios update files on the USB, it is not able to access them using the HP Diagnostic support tools, as there is not option for anything besides the Memtest and HD test, which are clean.
At my wits end, any ideas? This is a fairly new device, only had it a few weeks
