HP Jump Start stopped working. I am not sure when exactly, it has been a while since I last used it. It stays on its start page while showing the following messages:

"Almost there, we're getting things ready."

"Is your internet connection working?"

And finally:

"Something went wrong on our end. Check back soon'' with an ''Ok, Got it!'' button which ends the programs.

Everything else works fine, this is the inly app having issues.

I just received the laptop from repair, as it seemed to have various hardware issues. This problem is now fixed (sadly not all of them). Appreciate trying to help.

Hi all,

After turning on my laptop this morning, while everything was working well until yesterday, my wireless network adapter, bluetooth and TAP had disappeared. I found them hidden in the device manager. Uninstalled all, restarted and wireless was there, bluetooth as well, TAP adapter nowhere to be found. Tried checking for updates and HP support assistant, no luck. Restarted again, everything was gone again. After restarting a couple of times, I now have wireless and bluetooth but no VPN, as TAP is still absent.

The only issues I had with the laptop so far was 1) an issue with jump start yesterday, for which I made a post, and 2) overheating. I am no extreme gamer, so I was investigating the issue, but I never let my laptop overheat-I just quit gaming until I find a solution. I am mentioning this as, for an expensive laptop like this, that promises smooth gaming experience, this seemed a bit strange and I am wondering if there is a manufacturing issue with my device. Laptop was bought Oct 2019 and I am within warranty.

I have not tried to reset it, as I fear it might lose more functionality in the process.

@MariannaP Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the HP Jump Start is not working

The issue may occur if either the program or the OS is not working properly due to a corrupt system file, normally an OS re-installation should fix such issues, however, it depends on how the OS was reinstalled, if you haven't used the HP Recovery manager (F11) for the re-installation, please Click here for instructions on how to get it done.

If the above doesn't work due to installation using the local/retail copy of windows, I recommend you obtain the HP Recovery Media to delete all the content of the driver, re-create the partition and install a fresh copy of the OEM windows to resolve this issue: Click here to obtain the recovery media.
