Hello, After another BIOS update in my laptop (I don't remember which version I updated from). I have a problem, the laptop periodically restarts or freezes for no reason. I reinstalled Windows several times, downloaded all the drivers from the official website, and performed various diagnostics, including with built-in HP tools. These actions did not solve my problem. I have 12 laptops of this model. 11 of them have the same problem. Only the one where the BIOS has not been updated works well. Please tell me how I can restore the previous BIOS, since all the standard methods do not work in my case. Thank you in advance!

Hi @ZhaN1j,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing system instability, freezing and restarts on multiple HP Laptop 15s-eq2025ur units after a BIOS update. You've done an excellent job troubleshooting, including reinstalling Windows, updating drivers, and running diagnostics.

Since the issue began after a BIOS update and only the unit with the original BIOS remains stable, this strongly suggests the update introduced a compatibility or stability issue.

BIOS Rollback Options

HP does not always support BIOS downgrades through standard tools, but you can try the following HP-recommended recovery methods:

Option 1: HP BIOS Recovery (Windows + B)

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Press and hold the Windows + B keys.
  3. While holding, press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
  4. Release the Power button, but continue holding Windows + B for another 10 seconds.
  5. If successful, the system will enter HP BIOS Recovery and may offer to restore a previous version.

⚠️ If no previous BIOS is available, this method will not offer rollback.

Option 2: Create a BIOS Recovery USB

  1. On another HP PC, visit the HP Laptop 15s-eq2025ur (3B2X3EA) Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support.
  2. Download the BIOS update utility.
  3. Run the installer and choose Create Recovery USB (do not update).
  4. Insert the USB into the affected laptop.
  5. Use the Windows + B method again to trigger recovery from USB.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
