HP 14 inch Laptop PC 14-d3000 (2L0Z2AV)

Akin to this post , I am not able to find the correct driver to help me get the installation on the way.

A bit more context.

FreeDOS laptop > trying to install windows from USB (Media Creation Tool used) > prompted that no media driver is present and therefore, I cannot install windows OS

Meanwhile I have downloaded 30+ drivers from the HP website trying to figure out, which one it is, but come up empty.

While many of the drivers are shown in the installation menu, they are not the right ones to get me started on that windows install. Though I did find and installed the one for the trackpad, I need to do so every time I boot up the menu, to use a cursor.

It has become very frustrating and time consuming. Therefore I am writing here, in hopes that someone can light the way.

Sincerely, Ent

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I don't have any other ideas for you to try, so I guess you will have to return the notebook.

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if this works:

I have zipped up and attached below, the Intel storage controller drivers that I hope work for Windows to find the hard drive.

Copy the 5 files from the F6/VMD/f6vmdflpy-x64 folder to a USB flash drive.

iastorvd.cat

iastorvd.inf

iastorvd.sys

rstmweventlogmsg.dll

rstmwservice.exe

Have the flash drive and your W11 installation media plugged into USB ports.

Boot from the W11 installation flash drive.

When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.

If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.

Click Next and if those are the right drivers W11 should find the drive and install.

If not, unfortunately I don't have any other ideas for you to try.

Hi Paul,

thanks for the very quick answer.

The windows 10 installation did not recognize any of the attached content as fitting to the hardware.
When I unticked the box, it did show me the VMD Controller and Optane Controller, however after trying those out, it still did not show anything.

Unless you have any other idea how to get the hardware to show its contents, I will return it and get something else instead.

Thanks in advance
