I have a HP laptop that i was going to recycle yet its still in really good shape. I tried looking up products such as memory and new battery to look at upgrading and just keeping it.
When i go to find products that will fit it on HP web site and type in the serial number all i get is its a retired item. I dont seem to be able to find out any thing about what will fit it and whats available to buy for it. Any suggestions on where to get the support now that im looking for?

Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
ManualsLib - Makes it easy to find manuals online!
The memory upgrade can be found in chapter 1.
I'm thinking that the 6 GB max memory is incorrect, and the notebook probably supports 2 x 4 GB of memory if it has two memory slots.
The battery part number and description can be found in chapter 3.
HP will not have any of the parts you need, so you will have to find compatible aftermarket parts.
Search by the HP part numbers.
If you enter the serial number of your notebook in the search window at the link below, it should provide the battery part number HP installed in your notebook since the service manual lists two.

Thanks, that helps a lot.
Yea the 6gb is wrong it has 2- 4gb installed so it's maxed out now. That's what I was trying to find out if the mother board and processor could support more or not.
Shame still a really good notebook hate to recycle it but isn't anything that can be upgraded with it.
That's really what I was trying to find the answer to if it could be upgraded or not.
Thanks again.
