Does anyone know where I can purchase the HP recovery media for a HP 15-AC120NA notebook?
I am reviving my old notebook which had a dead hard drive, I have replaced the drive but I'm having a few Windows issues.
I created a Windows 10 USB drive but it says there are drivers missing which is probably for the SSD drive I have fitted.
I then created a Windows 10 DVD but I feel the DVD drive is faulty as it took ages to load the first time, I reformatted and tried again and it loaded faster but this time it asked for a licence key, switched the laptop off and back on tried again and it didn't ask for a licence key.
Tried downloading Windows 10 again and burning the ISO - this time it failed the 'verify disc' process.
I wonder if a CD drive cleaner kit may be worth buying? I don't think I have ever used the drive since I brought the notebook so I am wondering if they get dusty and fail?

Hi:
The only place that I know of that might sell recovery media for your notebook is this vendor:
Buy HP Recovery Media? | Best2serve
Since the W10 product key is in your notebook's BIOS, no product key is required.
Make sure you burn the ISO file to a DVD at the slowest speed you can, not the fastest.

Thanks for the link, I entered my serial number there and selected the model from the 2 options but then it said: "Unfortunately we don't have an HP Recovery Kit for your HP Pavilion"
I need to buy some more DL DVD's to make a new disk, in the meantime I have an old Windows 10 disc that I downloaded around 2021, would it be ok to use that if I run the updates afterwards?
Something I noticed when installing the latest download of Windows 10 was that when I checked for updates immediately after the installation there was a lot of them and they started downloading automatically, at one point it was asking me to restart even though other updates were only on 60% - should I have clicked restart? I decided to wait for them to all download before clicking restart,

You're very welcome.
Yes, you can use any older version of W10 that you have and after it installs, you can click on the blue Update Now button at the link below to update to the latest build which is 22H2.
Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
Yes, I noticed that happens a lot when you do updates. You get the restart now prompt but other updates are still installing.
I recommend that you let all of the updates install first and then restart the PC.
If you need to make an ISO file from an older version that will fit on a standard DVD, let me know and I will send you a link to one of those.
It will be older than what you have now.

If you could link me to a version that would fit onto a standard DVD that would be great, thank you 😊
For the updates would it be better to plug a network cable in rather than using the WiFi?

You're very welcome.
For the updates, if it is convenient for you to connect an ethernet cable, the updates will download a little faster than the max 72 MBPS Wi-Fi connection your PC has (assuming it is downloading files at the full speed).
Here is the link to the W10 v1803 64-bit English International ISO file. A 4.37 GB file size thereabouts.
The link will be good for 24 hours from the time of this reply.

This is great, I appreciate the help, I will download it in a minute and see how it goes,
One more question about after the Windows install, is it recommended to download and install the drivers listed on the HP site? or should I just leave the Windows Updates to sort that?

You're very welcome.
I would let Windows do the work, and install any drivers needed for missing devices afterward
I would install the audio driver because Windows installs a generic HD audio driver instead of the Realtek one.
