Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
HP Notebook - 15-ay517tx
Laptop OS crashed. Used recovery DVD 1 & 2 along with application & drivers DVD. Recovery was unsuccessful. Ran hardware check, all good. Also, tried running Zorin OS using a thumb drive boot - successful. I need to get windows back on the machine, also I had Office 365 installed on the machine and unfortunately I don't remember the credentials. I wonder how I'll get that now. But first I need to get the OS running. Please help.

Hi:

 

See if using the HP cloud recovery client utility to create a bootable USB recovery drive works for you.

 

Here is an info link for how to use the utility...

You will need to have access to another working Windows PC with W7 or newer.

You will lose all files on the hard drive using this method to reset the PC.
