HP Notebook - 15q-ds0010tu
Microsoft Windows 11

My 'HP Notebook - 15q-ds0010tu'  running Windows11,  now shows an additional system with product name 'InsydeH2O EFI BIOS'  in HP Support assistant. In this, I have not found out how I can sign in to 'HP Notebook - 15q-ds0010tu' and sign out of 'InsydeH2O EFI BIOS'!

Under 'Device Health', Storage for 'InsydeH2O EFI BIOS' shows 'Failed' whereas 'Storage' for 'HP Notebook - 15q-ds0010tu' shows 'Normal'!

Component test - Hard Drive was performed with result: Hard Drive/SSD Short DST Check: Failed

Failure ID: 00AB1F-000CKQ-KPPTXU-60Q903!

The Product number and Serial number of  'HP Notebook - 15q-ds0010tu' shows the correct values but are corrupted/wrong for 'InsydeH2O EFI BIOS'.

I will highly appreciate any assistance/advice on how I can resolve this problem!

Thanks in advance, Regards - Edwin

Hi @EdwinDSilva

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It looks like your HP Notebook - 15q-ds0010tu is displaying an unexpected system name, InsydeH2O EFI BIOS, in HP Support Assistant, along with a failed storage status and a Short DST Check failure on your hard drive. This issue could be related to BIOS corruption, a failing hard drive, or incorrect system identification.

Steps to Troubleshoot:

1. Check BIOS Settings

  • Restart your laptop and press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
  • Verify that the system name and product details match your actual laptop.
  • If incorrect, try resetting BIOS to default settings and save changes.

2. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly to enter HP Diagnostics.
  • Perform a full system test, especially on the hard drive.
  • If the Short DST Check fails, your hard drive may need replacement.

3. Update or Reinstall BIOS

  • Visit HP’s official support page for your model and check for BIOS updates.
  • If available, download and install the latest BIOS version.
  • If the issue persists, consider reinstalling BIOS using HP’s recovery tools.

4. Backup Your Data & Consider Hard Drive Replacement

  • Since your Short DST Check failed, your hard drive may be failing.
  • Backup important files immediately.
  • If needed, replace the hard drive and reinstall Windows.

Let me know if you need more details!

My apologies for not replying earlier. Thanks for the advice, all was checked as suggested. Unfortunately, the HDD was the culprit and being beyond redemption, had to be replaced. Got it replaced by a SSD at the local HP service. Thanks again for your help! Cheers!!
