Hi @amcgee0629,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
Have you made any changes to your PC software (OS) or hardware?
If your HP Notebook - 15-Dw0083wm is unable to complete the BIOS update for Intel processors, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:
Preliminary Steps
Ensure AC Power Connection:
- Make sure your laptop is connected to the AC power adapter. BIOS updates require a stable power source and will not proceed if the laptop is running on battery power.
Disable Antivirus Software:
- Sometimes, antivirus software can interfere with BIOS updates. Temporarily disable your antivirus software before starting the update.
Steps to Resolve BIOS Update Issues
Download the BIOS Update Manually:
- Go to the HP Support Website and enter your laptop model (15-Dw0083wm) to find the latest BIOS update for your system.
- Download the BIOS update executable file directly from the website.
Create a BIOS Recovery USB Drive:
- Insert a USB flash drive into your computer.
- Open the downloaded BIOS update file and follow the on-screen instructions to create a BIOS recovery USB drive.
Update BIOS from USB:
- Shut down your laptop.
- Insert the USB drive containing the BIOS update.
- Power on your laptop and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
- Press F2 to select System Diagnostics.
- From the System Diagnostics menu, select Firmware Management or BIOS Management.
- Choose BIOS Update and follow the instructions to update the BIOS using the USB drive.
Using HP Support Assistant
Open HP Support Assistant:
- Search for and open HP Support Assistant from the Start menu.
Check for Updates:
- In HP Support Assistant, click on Check for updates and messages.
- Install any updates found, including the BIOS update.
Kindly find the next set of steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
