notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This concerns my daughter's HP Notebook. It is very slow to open programmes such as MS Word and Excel.

She up to date anti - virus software and that shows the computer to be virus free.

She has cut down the number of items in the startup and the laptop does now start more quickly but is still very slow to open programmes.

It has 8GB RAM, Windows 10 is up to date and there is lots of free space on the hard disk.

What next?!

Cheers

Geoff

A further thought or two ..

Might a power reset help?

Am I right in thinking the power reset does NOT delete own docs, photos etc? where as a factory reset would?

Thanks

Geoff
