I have an HP OMEN 17t-w000 CTO. I had the following problems happen in this order:
1. Using my laptop as normal, my keyboard stops working entirely and the caps lock button light is flashing. The rest of the computer functions as normal but no keyboard so I restart the laptop.
2. Upon restart the keyboard functions properly and laptop works. I spend 15 minutes finishing what I was working on and leave my laptop.
3. When I come back about 30 minutes later the laptop is off and the power button LED is blinking. Pressing the power button does nothing. The charger is plugged in and the LED light by the power is on.
4. I remove the charger and the power button continues to blink but pressing it does nothing.
5. I remove the charger and the battery for a while. Come back and when I plug the charger back in the LED light next to the charger is no longer on and the power button on the computer is no longer blinking. Pressing the power button still does not do anything.
End result being the computer seems to be dead and showing 0 signs of life. In order to attempt to fix this issue I have:
-Attempted to drain the power by holding the power button in all ways possible (battery/charger connected, only charger connected, only battery connected, neither connected) multiple times.
-Opened the computer and reseated the ROM
I am thinking this is a more serious issue but if there is any other suggestions it would be helpful to hear. Thank you.

Hi @jdwadzinski ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you've already performed some troubleshooting steps, but, unfortunately, the issue persists. Given the symptoms you described, there could be a variety of potential causes for the problem. Here are a few additional steps you can try:
Hard Reset:
- Disconnect the laptop from the power source (unplug the charger).
- Remove the battery, if possible.
- Hold down the power button for about 15-20 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and power source, then try turning on the laptop.
Check Power Adapter:
- Ensure that the power adapter is working correctly. You can test it by using a multimeter or trying a different compatible power adapter.
Memory Modules:
- Reseat or replace the RAM modules. Faulty RAM can sometimes cause startup issues.
External Devices:
- Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, external hard drives, etc.) and try to start the laptop.
BIOS/UEFI Update:
- Check if there's a BIOS/UEFI update available for your laptop model on the HP support website. If so, follow the instructions to update it.
Hardware Diagnostics:
- Many laptops come with built-in hardware diagnostics tools. Check your laptop's manual or HP's support website to find out how to run these diagnostics. They can help identify potential hardware failures.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
