HP OmniBook Ultra 14 inch Laptop Next Gen AI PC 14-fd0000 (9J387AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello! I bought my HP OmniBook Ultra Laptop 14 less than 5 months ago.

I started using it, and everything seemed fine. I needed a new computer because my previous Lenovo (a pretty old one) started having screen glitches. Now, the same issue is happening with my new HP laptop.

It randomly glitches, turns off and on, and also displays various screen issues while glitching. It’s also become very slow out of nowhere— for example, if I try to type something, it can take up to a minute for the text to appear.

I’ve been trying to get it fixed through HP, but I’m facing issues with them recognizing the warranty.

They had me delete Windows, assuring me it would solve the problem. I lost all my data, but the issues persist.

All drivers are up to date.

Any ideas?

Hi @antog31

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially after losing your data and still facing the same issues.

Given your methodical approach to troubleshooting, let's explore a few possibilities.

Potential Causes:

  1. Hardware Issue – Since your previous laptop had similar screen glitches, it’s worth considering whether an external factor (power fluctuations, overheating, or even a faulty display cable) might be contributing.
  2. Driver Conflicts – Even though your drivers are up to date, sometimes a corrupted or mismatched driver can cause instability.
  3. Power Management Settings – Some HP laptops have aggressive power-saving features that can interfere with performance.
  4. Faulty RAM or SSD – If your laptop is slowing down drastically, it could be a memory or storage issue.

Steps to Try:

  1. Check Event Viewer – Open Event Viewer (Win + X → Event Viewer) and look for critical errors under "System" logs. This might reveal if a driver or hardware component is failing.
  2. Run HP Diagnostics – HP has built-in hardware diagnostics (F2 at startup). Run a full test to check for display, memory, and storage issues.
  3. Disable Adaptive Brightness & Power Settings – Go to Control Panel → Power Options → Change Plan Settings → Advanced Power Settings and disable adaptive brightness and any aggressive power-saving features.
  4. Rollback Graphics Driver – Try reverting to an older version of the AMD graphics driver from HP’s official site rather than using the latest one.
  5. Check for Overheating – If your laptop is getting unusually warm, it might be throttling performance. Use a monitoring tool like HWMonitor to check temperatures.

Let me know if any of these steps help or if you want to dig deeper into a specific issue!
