Hi @avicci,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

Your HP Pavilion 23‑q009NL touchscreen isn’t responding because Windows may have disabled the HID touch driver or the driver is missing.

Let's try a few checks.

Perform a hard reset

Turn off the computer.

Disconnect the AC adapter.

Remove any discs from the disc drive.

Remove memory cards from the card reader slot.

Disconnect all nonessential peripheral devices, such as printers, scanners, external hard drives, and USB flash drives.

With the AC adapter unplugged, press and hold the power button for approximately 15 seconds.

Reconnect the AC adapter, and then turn on the computer.

Check Device Manager

Most Common Fix

Windows may have disabled the touchscreen driver.

Press Win + X > Device Manager > Human Interface Devices

Look for HID-compliant touch screen

If present but disabled, right-click > Enable device

If missing, proceed to driver update

Update or Reinstall Drivers

Outdated or corrupted drivers often cause touchscreen issues.

In Device Manager, right-click HID-compliant touch screen > Update driver

Choose Search automatically for drivers."

If update fails, uninstall the driver and restart; Windows will reinstall it

Check Windows updates.

Updates may include fixes for touchscreen drivers.

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update

Install all pending updates

Restart and test the touchscreen.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

Restart > Press Esc repeatedly > F2 System Diagnostics

Run touchscreen test

Please refer to this link for assistance in running the test

If test fails, hardware repair is needed

a

I hope this helps

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
