Product: HP ENVY Laptop - 17t-cg000 CTO
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP PC HardwareDiagnostic Windows tool/app. Does anybody know this tool or app? I ran the Fast Tests included inside of it last week and it stops at #3 or #4 and reads Disk1 FAILED. That's it no explanation, details nothing. I ran the Windows Disk Version of the same thing and Disk1 all parts are fine. Today for the second time I re-downloaded the tool and ran the Fast Tests again it stopped at Disk1 Failed claimed it had to close for an unknown reason and crashed. Has this happened to anybody else who uses this if anybody else does use this? I can't get an answer anywhere on Hp.com and would rather not have to wait two or more weeks for a simple answer.

Hello @POPSBARRY 

 

This failure could be a failing drive that has not fully failed and is still working.  Try Running from F2 on boot and see if it also fails.  If this happens, I would recommend backing your data up and replacing the drive.  This could be a failure that is not showing yet in the OS but if there is a bad sector on the hardware could fail at any point.
