Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi Pals! After the latest BIOS update, my PC won't turn off and the screen remains blank, however the power button led is on. I tried searching how to hard reset but most of them was inefficient. This is an HP Pavilion 11-n000nc and it has volume up and down keys but does not have a Beats audio button and it has a non replacable bios battery. Please, help me!

No idea what you mean by "inefficient" in terms of hard reset approaches -- as they are all basically that way.

You generally do this by rebooting the PC and pressing F11 repeatedly in the process.  If that works, you will eventually get an HP Recovery Manager screen and that will allow you to do a factory reset.

If F11 does not work, you can try pressing the Esc key repeatedly until you see a Startup Menu.  One of the options there should be to do a reset.

Good Luck

Dear WAWood,

I tried different solutions (holding power button, pressing, holding F11 or Win+B, Win+V, etc.) There were no display. There was only one time when somehow I succeeded with F11, and then the BIOS recovery ran, the PC restarted, and then no display and nothing appeared again. I think it is a BIOS failure. I installed it because I wanted my PC more stable.  😞

@Baromember

Sorry to hear this is a BIOS issue, as there is no simple solution for that.

Sometimes, this thread works to restore the older BIOS version: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02693833

If that does not work, then you are stuck contacting HP Customer Support to explore your options:

If you live in the US or Canada, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1
If you live elsewhere, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html
NOTE: After you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to some one -- it can take a while!
If you have trouble finding a phone number, then try: 1 (800) 474-6836

However, HP Customer Support is generally not available on the weekends, so you might have to wait until Monday to contact them.
