Hi, I have a problem with a notebook, after reinstalling the OS, installed / updated drivers from the HP website, wi-fi started working badly for me. My connection is lost, and when I try to reconnect, the laptop hangs completely, only forced disconnection helps, by pressing the power key. What can be done? P.S. together with the drivers updated the BIOS to the latest version.

@Qironis Welcome to HP Forums Community!

I'd like to know if you've used the HP Recovery Manager via the F11 key to reinstall the OS or was it the HP Recovery media, or did you make use of a retail copy of windows?

If it was a retail version of the OS, I must let you know that HP doesn't recommend or support such installation as it leads to issues like the one we are now experiencing on your device, and if you've used the HP Recovery Partition, there could have been errors during any interruption that could cause the issue, and I suggest making use of the recovery media, if you don't have one, you can order it using the instructions mentioned here.

If you've used the recovery media and yet you've got this issue, I suggest we start with running an extensive hardware test to ensure there aren't any hardware malfunctions:

  • Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
  • Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
  • On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
  • Click Extensive Test.
  • Click Run once, or Loop until error.
  • While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component display on the screen.

If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) for when you respond back to us.

If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.
